Jeep Renegade Trailhawk is a Great Entry to Off-Road

2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk - JeepDealerNY - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

The Jeep Renegade was built as a new stepping stone into the world that is Jeep.  It is the lower entry point for many new drivers and is meant to be an incredible value to those same drivers.  But Jeeps are most notable for their ability to off-road, That is what many fans will say is the marking of a true Jeep.  The Renegade, despite its smaller size, is still quite capable at hanging with the other Jeeps.

The Master Herald breaks down the information on the Renegade Trailhawk, showing its prowess off-road.  Referencing Ezra Dyer of Yahoo Autos drive of the Trailhawk through Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina, they show that the Renegade managed to impress the writer.  Dyer was surprised by the capability of the Renegade Trailhawk and found that it performed extremely well in the off-road trails he subjected it to.

That doesn’t even begin to mention the numerous accolades the Renegade has picked up since hitting showfloors.  Numerous outlets, such as Kelley Blue Book, have put the Renegade on their most fun SUVs lists.  KBB also named it one of their coolest cars for 2015.  The Renegade Trailhawk is the perfect entry level Jeep for many new drivers and even with a smaller frame, that doesn’t mean it can’t handle the off-road.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Will be Shown to Dealerships Later This Year

Fiat-Chrysler is planning a treat for their upcoming Las Vegas showcase event.  They will be finally giving a peek at the new 2018 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.  This will be the first time the new Jeep is shown off to the public, or the reps for dealerships that attend that is.

The Grand Wagoneer is being brought back to life on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee platform.  It will be part of Jeep’s plan to mount a proper competitor to the Range Rover with a high-end SUV.  The new Grand Wagoneer is planned as a three-row off-roader.

The news that the Grand Wagoneer was being revived was announced last year at a presentation to investors.   The Grand Wagoneer has not been around since the 90’s and for many, this news was very exciting.  The old Jeep was most notable for its wood paneling side and there is no word yet on if the new model will carry a similar look to it or not.

This is certainly exciting news for dealers to send out someone to take a look at what Jeep is planning for the future.  No word on when the rest of the public will be made privy to seeing what it looks like.  All we can do is hope that it is soon.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Getting a Hellcat Engine?

Jeep SRT Grand Cherokee Hellcat Engine - JeepDealerNy

The Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats have been popular with muscle car fans and while Dodge is scrambling to keep up with the demand of the public, the question is if any other vehicles will be getting the Hellcat engine. According to Motor Authority, a Jeep may be next in line.

The SRT brand is coming under Dodge and with it most of their performance tech will be placed into Dodge vehicles, such as the Hellcats. Since SRT serviced all of the vehicles under the Chrysler flag, what is going to happen to the non-Dodge vehicles? While the 300 SRT is looking to only be available overseas, SRT is still going to put its stamp on the Grand Cherokee.

While it won’t be a Dodge Jeep or anything like that, the Grand Cherokee SRT is looking to be named Trackhawk, something that was trademarked by FCA a year ago. By going off the five-year strategy FCA showed off, the Grand Cherokee is getting an update here soon and this new Trackhawk could be shown off as part of that update.

A new name and SRT labeling isn’t the only thing, as the Hellcat engine may also be included in the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, something that Car and Diver seemed to think was a given at this point. As they stated when they first broke the Hellcat engine in a Grand Cherokee, the problem is that the Jeep will need some work to be able to handle the engine’s power and will be undergoing some revisions.

Do you think the Grand Cherokee should get the Hellcat engine?
