Custom Stretch Power Wheels Jeep Brings Back Childhood Memories

When I was a kid, I was jealous of a neighbor kid down the street. He had a Power Wheels Jeep, one of those little drivable toy Jeeps you could get over at Toys “R” Us. I could have probably run faster than he could drive it, but it was still by far the coolest toy on the block.

I can only imagine what would happen if 5-year-old me could see what toy makers and car enthusiasts are making today.

Recently, a video of a tricked-out stretch Power Wheels Jeep has been making the rounds on YouTube. This miniature Jeep was equipped with a full stereo system with sub-woofers mounted on the back, an iPod plug-in next to the steering wheel, and a Phoenix Gold 800-watt 5-channel amplifier mounted to the front. It also has workable LED headlights and custom leather seats.

The custom job was done by Underground Autostyling, a custom auto shop in Florida. You can watch them show off the vehicle’s full features in the video below.

It is surprising how jealous I am over a car made for elementary school kids. I mean, I’m a grown up. I could buy a real Jeep if I wanted to. The good news for Underground Autostyling is that if I want their custom Power Wheels Jeep, then kids are definitely going to want it too. If these modified Power Wheels Jeeps take off, in a few years we could get a whole new generation of young Jeep fans itching to buy their first Wrangler.

Jeep Creating Over One Thousand New Jobs in Toledo

Across the country, Americans are starting to see the economy improving in tangible ways, and in Toledo, Ohio, Jeep is putting people back to work.

This week, WTVG, an ABC affiliate in Toledo, reported that unemployed residents were getting prepared for the Jeep expansion which will create more than a thousand new jobs in the area next year. The community is supporting prospective employees by helping them update their resumes and teaching them how to impress an employer in an interview. In particular, the One Village community has rallied for its residents by offering assistance in resume writing and teaching standard computer skills.

Beth Lewandowski, current Secretary of the Neighborhood Representatives on the United Village Council, explained why the community needs to prepare for new jobs, stating, “The job market has changed. The skills that people had when they first got employed out of high school have changed and we know that as a fact.” This early training will make these applicants better employees and create a smoother transition, especially if a prospective employee has been out of work for awhile.
