New Jeep Wranglers Coming Soon

Jeep Wrangler is one of the most popular and recognized models in the maker’s catalog. It should come as no surprise that its also the one that gets new models such as the special edition Call of Duty and Arctic Wranglers. Jeep has now announced that they are releasing some new models to join the Wrangler family.

Jeep is looking to extend its reach on the global market with the introduction of a new model specifically targeted to the Chinese market. The Jeep Wrangler Dragon Concept is being put out due to China’s growth as one of the largest automotive markets in recent years. The design work of the new Jeep are based on the fact that its the year of the Dragon according to the Chinese calendar. The exterior is painted with gold-bronze details with a dragon motif wrapped around the body. There’s also an added custom fuel filler door and a blacked out LED exterior lighting package.

The other new model that Jeep is putting out is a very limited edition. Earlier in the year, Jeep released the new all black Altitude Edition of the Compass, Grand Cherokee, and the Patriot. Now it’s the Wrangler’s turn. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude edition will only have 4500 available. The model comes with the option for multiple paint schemes such as Deep Cherry Red, Bright Silver, or even Bright White. It will house a 3.6 liter V-6 engine with 285 horsepower and up to 21 miles per gallon.

It’s definitely a good time to be a Jeep Wrangler fan. Check out all the Jeep inventory online at Bayside. Keep up to date with the latest Jeep news by liking Bayside on Facebook and following us on Twitter.

Building the Jeep Wrangler: A Look Inside

Jeep might have a rough-and-tumble public image to maintain, but there is careful craftsmanship put into their popular Wranglers. Last month, the official Jeep blog took a look inside the Jeep Wrangler Assembly Facility in Toledo, Ohio and saw how Wranglers come together.

The Toledo assembly facility is quite impressive. Every day, the 2,500 workers produce 720 Wranglers, and while the workers do have state-of-the-art equipment, there is quite a bit of work done by hand. For example, the plant’s quality specialist Diego pointed out, “The craftsmanship of a windshield – a machine just can’t do, so we do it by hand.”

Despite their high level of production, their assembly facility is working incredibly hard to keep up with demand for Jeep Wranglers. Currently, they are running at maximum capacity, but there are few complaints from Diego who quipped, “Not many people can say, ‘hey, I’ve got a problem, I can’t build enough cars.’” It is a testament to how popular the Jeep Wrangler has become in recent years and how many loyal fans come back to the Wrangler when shopping for a new car.
