2018 Jeep Wrangler Spotted in Spy Photos

The new 2018 Jeep Wrangler has been spotted by spy photographers.  The spy photos seem to indicate some interesting things about what to expect from the upcoming 2018 Wrangler.

The 2018 Wrangler that the photographers captured was a four-door.  It looked like it was also testing out the rumored three-piece hardtop.  This new roof option would allow for the removal of the front two or the entire roof.  Basically a segmented roof removal system for the 2018 Wrangler.

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is expected to bring a new age of tech and innovation to the nostalgic Jeep Wrangler.  So far the photos seem to indicate that the traditional boxy look that the Wrangler has had will not be going away.  For many, this will be seen as a positive as the Wrangler is the last bastion for the traditional Jeep design.

First Look at the 2018 Jeep Wrangler’s Grille?

Did someone leak the first look at the next-generation Wrangler’s grille?

We may be getting the first look at what the new Jeep Wrangler’s grille will look like.  Jeep has been keeping the new Wrangler under wraps.  It is one of the most anticipated by Jeep fans due to the Wrangler being seen in the current line-up as the throw-back to the original Jeep.  With new Jeep models like the Grand Cherokee and the Cherokee having a newer look to them, fans of the old boxy look are afraid that the Wrangler will be getting a similar visual redesign.  If this grille look is any indication, then there is nothing to worry about.

This possible grille shows that the iconic seven slot is going nowhere to no surprise.  What some publications have gathered is that there is no room for the turn-signals, indicating those may have moved to the fenders.  Combined with possible other leaked images of a disguised Jeep thought to be the 2018 Jeep Wrangler and it adds up to a slight variation on the boxed look Wrangler fans love.

For now, all that we can do is speculate on whether the images are even real.  We can’t wait to see what the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will look like and photos like this will only make the wait longer and harder.

What Excites Mike Manley About Jeep’s 2017 Future

The Jeep Brand has been one a US success story. The last few years have seen a spike in drivers flocking to the SUVs and has helped Fiat-Chrysler maintain positive monthly sales figures for months. The big question is how does Jeep intend to keep that momentum going in 2017. Digital Trends had an interview with the man who will be shaping the future of Jeep, their CEO Mike Manley in which he talks about what he is excited for most in 2017.

One of the first questions is what is the Jeep brand now that it is branching out its focus into markets like light off-road and luxury. Manley goes on to say that the Wrangler is seen as the icon of the brand but, “for a brand to be successful, I strongly believe it has to have character and personality that do not necessarily end up being purely defined by the products that are in that brand.” He continued that the Jeep products are meant to evoke a sense of adventure and that each branching Jeep product always has that at its core.

What is it that excites him most for 2017? The answer is the same that many drivers are excited about. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The Jeep that will finally hold the Hellcat’s 6.2L Hemi V8. Since Manley first confirmed its existence about a year ago, there has been much speculation of what to expect. Will an SUV have 707 horsepower? Manley doesn’t have that answer, just hype that the finished product will live up to the hype.

The other major source of excitement for the upcoming year; the next generation Wrangler. The Wrangler has been the traditional Jeep of late. While other Jeep products have been changing their faces, and showing a more modern aesthetic, the Wrangler has kept to the classic boxy look. What will the new Wrangler look like? Manley assures that the Wrangler will still have “the underpinning of everything Jeep has stood for many years.” I wonder if that means the boxy look will remain.
