Jeep Grand Cherokee

There’s a reason why the Jeep Grand Cherokee earns the highest marks from so many magazines and internet sites.  According to Popular Mechanics, where it was on the top 10 cars of 2011,  the Grand Cherokeestands at the top of the lineup” and it was even the winner of the 2011 Internet Truck of the Year.  It really goes to show you that the Grand Cherokee has plenty to offer that is truly top of the line.
It begins the moment you see it, the Grand Cherokee is instantly recognizable.  It has all the markings of Jeep such as the seven slot grille and the headlamps.  Where the Grand Cherokee breaks from the pack is in the longer front and rear door openings, meaning that you wouldn’t have to be a trained contortionist in order to to get in.  The best part of the design is the attention to detail in things such as the refinement of aerodynamics in order to reduce the noise, vibration, and harshness levels.  This means that as you’re cruising along in style down I95, you’re going to be able to be in your own little world without the interruption of outside noises.
It’s evident from the get-go that when you sit down inside the luxurious SUV that you’re truly getting the best.  Maybe it’s the hand stitched steering wheel that also just so happens to be heated, or the soft touch materials that are used in the interior design from objects such as the door handles.  It can definitely be seen in the seat designs with the rich leather and the brilliant design of the of the instrument panel, you can’t help but see the craftsman work involved to make sure that it earns the title of most luxurious SUV in its class.
Adding to that, the Grand Cherokee wants to make sure you get the same quality under the hood that you do when you open the door.  With both the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine and 5.7 liter V8 engine powering this class leading jeep, it’s easy to see why it’s known as the best in class.  It’s hard not to be even more impressed when getting 17 miles per gallon while driving around the streets of Queens and the Bronx with it’s 24.6 gallon tank.
You’ll be needing that gas, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee is made to go wherever you want it to.  Jeep makes sure to put the Grand Cherokee through the motions of complete testing, not slapping on their Jeep Trail Rated badge until it passes all 5 categories.  Jeep advertises that with this jeep, you can “Go Anywhere, Do Anything.”  They back this statement up with features like the Quadra-Lift.  What the Quadra-Lift is is an air suspension system that adjusts with just the simple turn of a knob.  It can add an additional 4.1 inches onto the maximum height of ground clearance.  Not only that, but the Grand Cherokee is ready to tackle all the weather that New York has to offer.  When other cars are slipping and sliding on the streets of Manhattan after a blizzard, the Grand Cherokee with its Selec-Terrain system can stay on the roads when other cars wouldn’t dare.
For anyone with questions about the Grand Cherokee’s dedication to the protection of the driver and passengers will find that Jeep has taken every measure to ensure that it is ready to deal with whatever comes your way.  This is obvious in the wrap around protection the Grand Cherokee offers.  With over 45 available safety features, such as driver and passenger seat mounted pelvic and thorax airbags, side curtain airbags, the vehicle is designed to keep you safe.  There’s even an available Advanced Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control Group which uses radar sensors to warn drivers if another vehicle is approaching too rapidly.

According to Four Wheeler magazine, it’s the best 4×4 vehicle of the decade.

Jeep is proud about their 4WD in their car brands.  To showcase just how proud they are of the quality, they have their own badge that is found on all of the 4x4s that pass every test they throw at them.  It’s the Jeep Trail Rated badge and if it’s on the jeep, then be guarantee that it’s been rigorously tested to be approved.  In order to get that badge it must pass in the following categories:
・    Articulation
・    Maneuverability
・    Water Fording
・    Ground Clearance
・    Traction
This is where the Wrangler really gets to show off it’s stuff.  It has the most traction of any Wrangler EVER.  Best in class water fording capability (which is up to an astonishing 30 inches of water).  Best in class ground clearance and even best in class turning diameter.  That’s a lot of best in class wins for the Wrangler and it comes for a reason.
Moving on to the engine of this amazing machine, it’s all about the 3.6L Pentastar V6.  With the ability to deliver 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, you’d expect it to have to come at a cost.  Not really, in fact, this engine offers an improvement in the fuel efficiency, giving up to 21 miles per gallon on that venture out to the Adirondacks for the weekend.  It comes with two options for the transmission, the first being a five speed automatic and the other being a six speed manual transmission.
A Jeep this good makes sure to maintain that quality it brags about all the way into the protection it offers the driver and any passengers.  A prime example of the lengths Jeep goes to make you safe and sound is the sports bar that uses high strength steel to improve the side impact performance as well as control when at highway speeds.  The airbags that the Wrangler has is multistage for both the driver and front passenger.  There is also side supplemental airbags.  For even more peace of mind, there are available seat mounted side airbags that deploy from the outboard side of the seat that enhances the protection for the head and thorax should a side impact occur.  In all, Jeep earns it’s bragging rights with the quality of the drive and the safety that it ensures anyone driving or riding.
