Jeep Renegade Trailhawk is a Great Entry to Off-Road

2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk - JeepDealerNY - Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge

The Jeep Renegade was built as a new stepping stone into the world that is Jeep.  It is the lower entry point for many new drivers and is meant to be an incredible value to those same drivers.  But Jeeps are most notable for their ability to off-road, That is what many fans will say is the marking of a true Jeep.  The Renegade, despite its smaller size, is still quite capable at hanging with the other Jeeps.

The Master Herald breaks down the information on the Renegade Trailhawk, showing its prowess off-road.  Referencing Ezra Dyer of Yahoo Autos drive of the Trailhawk through Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina, they show that the Renegade managed to impress the writer.  Dyer was surprised by the capability of the Renegade Trailhawk and found that it performed extremely well in the off-road trails he subjected it to.

That doesn’t even begin to mention the numerous accolades the Renegade has picked up since hitting showfloors.  Numerous outlets, such as Kelley Blue Book, have put the Renegade on their most fun SUVs lists.  KBB also named it one of their coolest cars for 2015.  The Renegade Trailhawk is the perfect entry level Jeep for many new drivers and even with a smaller frame, that doesn’t mean it can’t handle the off-road.

Jalopnik Collects all 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rumors

Jalonpik 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rumors - JeepDealerNY

When something new is on the horizon, everyone seems to have the rumor and the scoop on just what to expect.  It is the nature of the news cycle, to be so desperate to break the story that there is little time for fact checking.  The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is a much sought after news story in the auto world and it doesn’t help that Jeep is saying nothing in concern for what is to be expected from the Jeep.  Jalopnik has done a service and collected all the rumors under one roof for readers to speculate over.

Some of the rumors they mention are ones that don’t really even need confirmation.  An example is that the 2017 model will be redesigned.  As they say, this is a given.  Fiat-Chrysler confirmed as much during their five-year plan meeting in which the 2017 redesign was shown in a slide.  Not that anything was shown other than this is happening, however.

Being tight-lipped can also cause a great deal of worry for fans.  For some, it is that a new Wrangler may ditch what makes the Jeep so desirable in the first place.  Will the new gas regulations force Jeep to lower the quality and power in the new Wrangle?  Will the new Jeep skimp on power to save production costs?  This leads into my favorite line of the article, “As anybody whose ever been on a Jeep forum knows; any new Jeep sucks and the outgoing one is the only real Jeep.  Such is the cycle.”  There is a lot of truth here.  The internet has a tendency to be up in arms about speculation.

This reminds me of when the Cherokee was first shown and the Jeep community lost their collective minds over the new look.  Yet, this didn’t stop the new Cherokee from being a major winner in sales for Jeep.  It’s impossible to tell based on rumors just how good or bad something is going to be.

Check out the whole write-up as there is plenty of rumors not covered here.  It’s going to be a long while until Jeep officially confirms anything with the Cherokee and until then, best to take everything with a grain of salt, stay calm, and have faith that Jeep is working hard to make sure that the Wrangler stays a quality product in their line-up.

2015 Jeep Renegade

The new Jeep Renegade is ready to bring a new look and name to the Jeep brand.  Taking cues from new parent company Fiat’s European Panda, the Renegade is going to offer a new way to experience off-road in a Jeep.  A new look, one that is inspired by such European designs, may seem frightening to most American drivers.  There was already enough fear over a simple new look for the now highly regard Jeep Cherokee.  The Renegade is still Jeep at its core and no matter how boxy or odd it may appear at first sight, it is still offering the best off-road experience to Jeep fans new and old.

The design of the new Jeep Renegade, at first glance, is off-putting for long time fans of Jeep.  Take it all in and dwell on it, and you’ll notice that the familiar Jeep cues are still intact for a new generation.  The iconic seven-slot grille is still there to give the family resemblance.  But look isn’t what makes a Jeep, it is what is inside and what it can do.  In that regard, the Renegade is more that capable of living up to a long honored tradition of being trail-rated.

The engine inside of the Renegade is a 1.4 liter Multi Air turbocharged engine with six-speed manual transmission.  A larger engine, a 2.4-liter, is also available.  The Renegade also has standard the Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system.

For true outdoors types, the Renegade has an available open-air, dual panel roof feature.  The “My Sky” system can open up a roof panel to let the air in.  The dual panel system allows for half-way retraction or a full removed roof for the front and rear passengers.  When the panels are removed, they can be stored in a height-adjustable rear cargo area.
