Jeep Brand is Most Patriotic Brand in America!

Jeep FlagJeep earned a spot on the list one would want right as the country celebrates our Independence Day.

Robert Passikoff is the founder and president of Brand Keys, a consumer research firm in New York. In honor of the 4th of July, his company put together a list of what consumers saw as the 25 more patriotic brand in America. Jeep just so happened to be on the list, but not just on the list, they topped it. That’s right, Jeep is, according to this survey, the most patriotic brand in America. Cue the fireworks!

Looking a the list, most of the brands that made it were varied. Food companies like Hershey, clothing companies like Ralph Lauren, but Jeep only has competition from one other auto company on the list. That would be Ford and they came in at 16th.

US Rep Marcy Kaptur, a democrat from Toledo, commented on the honor that Jeep was given. “It will come as no surprise to generations of workers in Toledo that Jeep is the ‘most patriotic’ brand. It’s really what we’re all about as a community.

Jeep is a name synonymous with American patriotism. Considering that it was the work-horse and backbone of the US military over seas during World War 2, the war that created the vehicle, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Jeep name is still seen as so patriotic. Jeep also has a long history of honoring our service men and women.

Critics Pleased With New Jeep Cherokee Look

2014 Jeep CherokeeIt’s time for the critics to start weighing in on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Last week, we unveiled the pricing and now it’s time to check in and see what the early thoughts are towards this interesting new Jeep with a whole new look.

Auto123.com posted up a very positive look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. They were very impressed by the increase in fuel economy improvements, the inclusion of new state-of-the-art technologies, and were fans of the new design.

The improved fuel economy comes courtesy of the 4-cylinder engine capable of 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a new 3.2-litre V6 that comes with the new 9-speed automatic transmission.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will come with three four-wheel-drive systems. Jeep Active Drive I, II, and Drive Lock. Drive 1 is fully automatic one-speed PTU (power transfer unit. Drive II has two-speed PTU and low range. Active Drive Lock has two-speed PTU, low range, and locking rear differential.

The exterior has been the talk of the 2014 Cherokee since it’s first look. Jeep knew they were taking a chance with innovation when they gave the first glimpse and I think it was a wise decision. Let the hardest sell get out of the way so people can understand the bold new approach that Jeep is taking. So far, while fans have still been divided, it’s looking like critics are warming up. It’s sleek, it’s new, and it’s impressive.

70 Year Old Jeep Makes Journey Back Home

willys-jeepHere’s an incredible story about legacy and military service:

The Jeep is coming back to the States today.  Not just any mere Jeep, but a military WW2 Willy, the precursor of the Jeep.  And this one has been in service for 70 years.

This specific Jeep began its life on June 3rd, 1943 where it was deployed to Sicily to help with the war efforts shortly after coming out of the factory.  When the war ended, the Jeep stayed overseas and was moved around various Italian military members.

It left active-duty at some point and became privately owned.  The current owner, an Italian journalist Vittorio Argento, purchased it in 1984.  Now, he’s returning it to its birthplace in Toledo, Ohio, the very factory where it was first made.

It’s a remarkable story to see.  I can’t even imagine the stories this little beast of burden could tell if it could talk.  Even more impressive seeing how well it’s held up over the decades.  That’s a real testament to the quality of manufacturing that went, and still goes into, producing the Jeep.
