Critics Pleased With New Jeep Cherokee Look

2014 Jeep CherokeeIt’s time for the critics to start weighing in on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Last week, we unveiled the pricing and now it’s time to check in and see what the early thoughts are towards this interesting new Jeep with a whole new look.

Auto123.com posted up a very positive look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. They were very impressed by the increase in fuel economy improvements, the inclusion of new state-of-the-art technologies, and were fans of the new design.

The improved fuel economy comes courtesy of the 4-cylinder engine capable of 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a new 3.2-litre V6 that comes with the new 9-speed automatic transmission.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will come with three four-wheel-drive systems. Jeep Active Drive I, II, and Drive Lock. Drive 1 is fully automatic one-speed PTU (power transfer unit. Drive II has two-speed PTU and low range. Active Drive Lock has two-speed PTU, low range, and locking rear differential.

The exterior has been the talk of the 2014 Cherokee since it’s first look. Jeep knew they were taking a chance with innovation when they gave the first glimpse and I think it was a wise decision. Let the hardest sell get out of the way so people can understand the bold new approach that Jeep is taking. So far, while fans have still been divided, it’s looking like critics are warming up. It’s sleek, it’s new, and it’s impressive.

Jeep Shows Off 2014 Cherokee’s Off-Road Capabilities in New Video

UntitledThe 2014 Jeep Cherokee has been held under a fine microscope even with barely any information released.  All it took was a few sneak peeks and official pictures to get the entire auto world talking.  Some loved the new look and others scoffed.  In response, Jeep is making sure that people remember that the real beauty of their vehicles is not just the exterior, but it’s what’s underneath.

A new video put out by Jeep follows the new Cherokee as it tackles a rocky playground.  The shot is POV and clearly shows that the Cherokee, while boasting a more car-like look, is not unable to take on rough terrain.  The vehicle goes up a couple of steep inclines covered in both solid rock and loose sand.

At the beginning of the video, Jeep teases that the 2014 Cherokee will be offering the best-in-class capability.  There’s no doubt after seeing it briefly in action that all-wheel drive will be a part of the package.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee will get its full reveal at the 2013 New York Auto Show happening very soon.  Many Jeep enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing just what this giant leap has in store.

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Announced!

Jeep_1512__midJeep already started out 2013 with having strong numbers from the previous year.  Continuing with the momentum they have announced the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Motor Trend breaks down all the new bells and whistles.  One of the biggest changes that drivers will be seeing in the new model is higher quality of powertrain.  The 3.6 liter V-6 also provides a major boost to the fuel economy.  That engine gets 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.  The 5.7 liter V-8 model has even better numbers with 15 mpg for city driving and 14 on the highway.  This extra power also improves the towing capacity for the Jeep.  The V-6 is now capable of 6200 pounds and the V-8 can get 7200 pounds.

Another new feature for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is something called Eco Mode.  What it does is optimize the new transmission’s shift schedule to help with fuel economy by lowering the ride height when you reach a speed above 56 mph.

New thinner headlights give a distinct new image to the exterior of the Grand Cherokee.  Even the fog lights have been moved in order to give off a more upscale look.  Around on the back side of the Jeep, even the logo sees a new change.  It’s larger and has been moved up on the tailgate.  The SRT model gets a blackout grille treatment in order to be different itself from other models.

It’s certainly looking to be Jeep’s year with such a strong start.  The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has everyone buzzing and certainly will keep drivers excited until it finally gets released to the public.  For now, it’s time to just drool over every little detail.
