2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Announced!

Jeep_1512__midJeep already started out 2013 with having strong numbers from the previous year.  Continuing with the momentum they have announced the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Motor Trend breaks down all the new bells and whistles.  One of the biggest changes that drivers will be seeing in the new model is higher quality of powertrain.  The 3.6 liter V-6 also provides a major boost to the fuel economy.  That engine gets 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.  The 5.7 liter V-8 model has even better numbers with 15 mpg for city driving and 14 on the highway.  This extra power also improves the towing capacity for the Jeep.  The V-6 is now capable of 6200 pounds and the V-8 can get 7200 pounds.

Another new feature for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is something called Eco Mode.  What it does is optimize the new transmission’s shift schedule to help with fuel economy by lowering the ride height when you reach a speed above 56 mph.

New thinner headlights give a distinct new image to the exterior of the Grand Cherokee.  Even the fog lights have been moved in order to give off a more upscale look.  Around on the back side of the Jeep, even the logo sees a new change.  It’s larger and has been moved up on the tailgate.  The SRT model gets a blackout grille treatment in order to be different itself from other models.

It’s certainly looking to be Jeep’s year with such a strong start.  The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has everyone buzzing and certainly will keep drivers excited until it finally gets released to the public.  For now, it’s time to just drool over every little detail.
