Motor Trend Takes the Jeep Wrangler on the Rubicon Trail

Jeeps were built for the intention of conquering the terrain. The brand started life with the intent to ensure that no field of battle was too dangerous to traverse. The Trail is notoriously difficult for any 4×4 to handle and Jeeps have been driving it since the 50’s to prove their prowess with difficult terrains. Plant Prepares for Full 2014 Jeep Cheorkee Production

It’s been a long time coming, but the new Jeep Cherokee is almost upon us. Ever since it was teased with a new look that’s been divisive amongst fans, the new Cherokee has been building up popularity thanks to those wanting something new and others who are more impressed by what its capable of rather than a striking new look. Expectations are high and Jeep plans to make sure on delivering. That’s why it will be increasing production at the plant responsible for getting the Cherokee out to would-be buyers.

The Toledo plant in Ohio will be producing the 2014 Cherokee at full volume for a single shift. However, they want to be at full capacity by September. That’s over 500 models over the course of a nine-hour shift. In order to maintain that incredible pace, a second shift will be added. Training has already begun to get ready.

We’re expecting this vehicle to sell,” said Zachary Leroux, the plant’s manager. “I think that’s going to keep us busy for a long period of time.

Jeep is placing large bet on the new compact SUV set to replace the Jeep Liberty. With the hype going into it, I think it stands a chance at bringing in a new age of Jeep drivers.

Details and Pricing Released for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Jeep has finally announced the pricing for the upcoming and all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Along with that pricing range comes with it the three different variants of the Cherokee that will be out this year.

The first up is the base model, the Cherokee Sport. The rundown of its features are that it will be equipped with a Fiat-sourced 2.4L Tigershark engine and 17-inch steel wheels. As is the case with most Chrysler products, the Cherokee will have the Uconnect system.

The next step up is the Cherokee Latitude. On the outside, it shares many similarities with the Sport. The biggest perk of going up a tier, however, is the luxurious interior. Leather-bound steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, and inseat storage in the front passenger seat; these are just a few of the interior features to make the Latitude such a premium purchase. The engine is a 3.2L Pentastar V6. Pricing for the Latitude starts at $24,495.

Next in line is the Cherokee Limited. It comes with automatic headlights and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels on the outside. On the inside, it cranks up the luxury. That means heated leather seats and steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, and the Uconnect system with an 8.4 inch touchscreen. All this comes priced starting at $27,995.

The last, and most incredible value, is for the Cherokee Trailhawk. This is the one being aimed right at the drivers looking to find their fun on the road less traveled. That’s why it comes with such features like a red tow hook and a underbody skid plate. The ride height has been increased as well as the off-road suspension. The engine has the Jeep patented Selec-Terrain as well as Active Drive 4×4 drivetrain. The Trailhawk has some extra visual flair to the already bold new look of the new Jeep. The top of the pack will run about $29,495.
