The Hidden Features of Owning a Jeep

Do you know the hidden features in your purchase? For new Jeep buyers, there’s plenty of unwritten rules that go beyond the equipment and exterior included in the purchase. DirtRoadTrip.com put together a list of ’10 Things They Never Tell You About Owning a Jeep.’

  • You’re Going to Get Wet:

The 9th on their list is the notion that you’re going to get wet in the driver seat. That’s because it’s impossible to not want to put all that jibber-jabber about the Jeep’s off-road to the test. Inevitably, in that curiosity, is going to come the chance to take the Jeep through the mud and water. When that finally happens, just make sure that you bring an dry pair of pants to change into.

  • The Jeep Wave:

This is a phenom that has been on-going for sometime now. When you buy a Jeep, you don’t just get an award-winning, highly-capable vehicle, you’re also being inducted into a membership. The Jeep Wave is the unofficial salute given among Jeep drivers.

  • Tackle Any Weather Problem:

New York just had one of the biggest snowstorms in its history. After the snow subsided and it was time to get the city back to work, it’s a safe bet it was the Jeeps leading the charge. Case in point; remember that snowboarding through the streets of New York video that went viral? Did you notice what they were driving? *Jeep Wave*

Jeep Sets June Sales Record: More Popular Than Ever!

One of the most remarkable success stories in the auto industry of late is the rise of the Jeep.  Back when Chrysler was facing bankruptcy and its future was uncertain, nothing seemed further from thought than the idea that they’d be able to turn it around in the upcoming years.  Since recovering, the success story of Chrysler is a fascinating one, and one of the main reasons for that bounce-back is due to a new found fever for Jeeps.

CheatSheet.com examined this new wave of love for Jeep.  June was an amazing month for the Jeep brand.  It had the best June sales ever.  Many Jeep vehicles had record-setting months including the new Jeep Cherokee and the ever-popular Jeep Wrangler.  Even the newest member of the family, the Jeep Renegade, had an increase of 10% from May.

This is an incredible feat considering that Jeep, back when the company was going under, was struggling with American sales.  Now, it’s not just selling here in the States, but has caught on overseas.  Jeep recently invested in a new plant for production in India, showing that Jeep is one of the bigger international favorites.

The future seems even brighter.  The Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat experienced a higher than expected sales demand and Jeep is looking to capitalize on the popularity of the Hellcat name.  A Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Hellcat is expected next year.  This new SUV has potential to put some change into the market and have competitors scared.

What is it you’d like to see from Jeep in the coming years?  What do you think they need to do to keep the momentum going?

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Will be Shown to Dealerships Later This Year

Fiat-Chrysler is planning a treat for their upcoming Las Vegas showcase event.  They will be finally giving a peek at the new 2018 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.  This will be the first time the new Jeep is shown off to the public, or the reps for dealerships that attend that is.

The Grand Wagoneer is being brought back to life on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee platform.  It will be part of Jeep’s plan to mount a proper competitor to the Range Rover with a high-end SUV.  The new Grand Wagoneer is planned as a three-row off-roader.

The news that the Grand Wagoneer was being revived was announced last year at a presentation to investors.   The Grand Wagoneer has not been around since the 90’s and for many, this news was very exciting.  The old Jeep was most notable for its wood paneling side and there is no word yet on if the new model will carry a similar look to it or not.

This is certainly exciting news for dealers to send out someone to take a look at what Jeep is planning for the future.  No word on when the rest of the public will be made privy to seeing what it looks like.  All we can do is hope that it is soon.
