Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition Celebrates Veterans Day

Just in time for Veterans Day, Jeep has a new vehicle rolling out to honor those serving in the military.

It’s a perfect fit, the Jeep rose to renown for being created for and use in World War 2. Since then, the name has come to mean the best in off-road. When the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition hit the dealer floor, it was a big hit with fans and had fantastic sales. Following that success is now the Jeep Patriot with its own Freedom Edition. Being made with the brands military history in mind, it’s also a tribute to the men and women who serve.

The hood of the Patriot sports a military-inspired star as well as on the rear quarter panel. On the lower front door is the phrase “Oscar Mike” which is military jargon for “on the move.” The exterior will come in different patriotic flavors with the choice of either red, white, or blue.

Jeep is also taking the next step to make sure that when someone purchases the Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition that they are showing support of our armed forces. Each vehicle sold will put $250 towards charities that benefit the US military.

The Cutest Little Jeep You Ever Did See

Usually, when people think of Jeep, they think of the military and tough ruggedness. After seeing this Jeep listed for sale on eBay and featured over on Jalopnik, we are still in shock. Who knew that a Jeep could be so darn cute?

This 1953 Custom Willys 8X8 Overland has the typical green camouflage color and a white strip and star on the side. The interior could use a bit of work, and while it is a great restoration job by fabricator Dick Cook, pulling parts from 3 Willys Jeeps, there are plenty of great restored cars available for sale on eBay. What caught our interest was its 8 wheels, turning it from a tough Jeep into a vehicle as cute as a bug.

In their video from the eBay posting, the seller showed off all eight wheels and boasted, “There will never be another one of these…We’ve built a centipede.” You can view the full video below:

Right now, bidding for the car is at $8,705.00, though the bidding reserve has not yet been met. If you want to check out the bidding or see more pictures of this adorable Jeep, head over to the eBay posting here.

New Jeep Patriot Altitude Announced

The Jeep Patriot seems to be mad that so many other vehicles such as the Dodge Dart and the Grand Cherokee are stealing its thunder. A new announcement is bound to bring the spotlight back on it, though.

This stems from the winning name of the Jeep “Name My Ride” contest. The name Altitude was officially awarded for the new fully decked out vehicle. The Wrangler, Compass, and Grand Cherokee have already gotten their similar Altitude editions, but the Patriot makes sure to bring a unique flair to the design.

The Jeep Patriot Altitude has the driver speeding down the street and over any off-road obstacles on 17-inch high-gloss black aluminum wheels. The Patriot Altitude has a subtle shine thanks to the chrome and polished steel on the lower fascia, the rear step pad appliques, and a bright polished steel roof rails.

This novel design work isn’t just on the outside, but also extends into the interior. Features that the Altitude puts into the interior design includes features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and audio controls, premium Cubic/Duet cloth bucket seats. Buyers have the choice of a standard four-speaker system or, if they want more bang for their buck, there’s the Boston Acoustics Premium Sound System with a 368-watt amplifier.

The Jeep Patriot Altitude is available for a limited time only, so make sure to get into Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge for a test drive. You can view the entire line-up of Jeep products on the online showroom as well. Be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for up to date news on Jeep.
