Jeep ‘Chips Away’ With the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Chrysler is a notorious company for the quality of its ads. They’ve put a fantastic and dramatic commercial together to promote the upcoming 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The ad, titled, ‘Chip Away’ features the same type of uplifting speech material most of Chrysler’s commercials are made up of. This time around, the speech comes from Al Pacino’s character in Any Given Sunday. It’s always a good choice to go with a football movie if you’re looking for inspiration.

Pacino preaches of the importance of fighting for every inch in life. His words are put over a montage of different people all struggling to achieve. Combined with a dramatic orchestrated score swelling at the perfect emotional moments, it’s clear that the ad company still understand how to send a message of inspiration.

Once the speech is over, a voice-over from a narrator chimes in to note how Jeep is fighting for those inches and chipping away to construct the best possible Jeep. Take a look at the ad and you’ll see the trend of quality continue for one more time as well as seeing the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in action.

2014 Jeep Cherokee is Official!

The folks over at Jalopnik are bragging at the moment for breaking the news on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Earlier today, they put out some behind the scenes leaks of the upcoming new version of the Jeep. Since then, Jeep has confirmed that they indeed did get a scoop.

The original big unveiling date was scheduled, or at least being hinted at, for the upcoming New York Auto Show. Jalopnik pushed up that official release date and forced their hand with releasing the first official photos. Everyone else is jumping on the band wagon to give their two cents at the new design.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee has a new vision for the future. This new exterior will certainly divide fans. Jalopnik is a fan of it. Autoblog thinks it’s going to be one of the most polarizing designs in 2014. It’s certainly a departure with a crimped-back seven-slot grille. The writer goes as far as to say it’s “got the makings of a design revolution.”

See If You Can Spot the Jeep Easter Eggs

Quick question for Jeep lovers. How closely have you looked at your Jeep? Think about it for a second. The reason I’m asking is that you might have missed something. A detail that was put in that one the most dedicated fans would not only find, but appreciate.

The Toledo Blade has done a little digging into the ‘easter eggs’ that the Jeep has been putting on their vehicles. They are tributes to the original Willys model from 60 some years ago.

Take a gander at the windshield of the Jeep Wrangler, for example. There’s a decal of the infamous front four rimmed grille honoring the legacy of the Jeep from World War 2. More of them are littered on various places.

It’s not just the Wrangler that has easter eggs. On the new 2013 model of the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicons, there’s a small Willys Jeep silhouette. The purpose is to mark the 10^th anniversary of the Wrangler Rubicon. That same silhouette will be tucked away in the headlamp assembly of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

According to Ralph Gilles, VP for product design at Chrysler, the practice began a few years ago. “It’s something that started three or four years ago and it’s really taken off. Now I have to almost control it. They can get out of hand. But (designers) are so proud of what they work on, they really are. It’s almost like actively trying to leave a legacy for the next generation.”

Take a second look at your Jeep, see if there is something there that you didn’t notice before. Never know what you might find if you look for it.
