On Tuesday, Jeep released its first extensive look at the upcoming 2015 Jeep Renegade, including a rundown of all the SUV’s specs, features, and interior/exterior design. What were the top 5 reasons to keep an eye out for the Renegade? Read on to find out.

First Small SUV from Jeep – The 2015 Jeep Renegade is the first small SUV from Jeep with the power and features of a larger SUV.
2 My Sky Open-Air Roof Systems – Passengers in the front and back seat can take in the fresh air and sunshine with two sunroofs.
16 Fuel-Efficient Powertrain Combinations – The Jeep Renegade offers 16 different powertrain combinations for different markets around the world, and it has the distinction of offering the world’s first nine-speed automatic transmission in the small SUV class.
Best-in-Class 4×4 Trail Rated Capability – Buyers who opt for the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk Model will get 4×4 technology that is also available in the new Jeep Cherokee. This new 4×4 system has a disconnecting rear axle and power take-off unit, giving the Renegade better fuel economy and a 20:1 crawl ratio.
Uconnect Access, Uconnect Touchscreen Radios, and Full-Color Instrument Cluster – Chrysler’s Uconnect system will be available in the Jeep Renegade, giving drivers access to their favorite features like Pandora, roadside assistance, voice texting, Yelp, and remote door lock/unlock. Drivers can also make their vehicle a WiFi hotspot for an additional subscription fee.

Autobytel Names 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV of the Year

2014 is still young, and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is already raking in major awards, including Autobytel’s “SUV of the Year.”

At the end of 2013, the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee had achieved the highest November sales number since before the recession as well as a Car of the Year award from the Automotive Journalist Association of Canada for Best New SUV. Jeep is continuing that momentum in January with their most recent win.

Autobytel’s editor-in-chief Michelle Naranjo had high praise for the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, stating in a recent press release, “For 2014, the Jeep Grand Cherokee embodies a readiness to head off into the hills as an affordable family hauler wrapped around class-leading interiors chockfull of the safety, technology and comfort features that set the Grand Cherokee at the top of the heap.”

Another vehicle from the Chrysler Group was also honored by Autobytel this year. The 2014 Ram 1500 was named the Pickup Truck of the Year, making Chrysler Group a two-time winner. Doug Betts, Senior Vice President of Quality at Chrysler Group, called the awards “a great honor,” attributing their success to the company’s diligent work building “world-class vehicles.”

2014 Jeep Cherokee is the Best New SUV!

The Automobile Journalist Association of Canada came together to hand out their awards to various vehicles as part of the 26th Annual Canadian Car of the Year awards. The event brings together more than 80 automotive journalists from all across the country to test out different vehicles.

In a press release put out with the reveal of the win for the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee, Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Chrysler, said, “This award from the members of AJAC is a fantastic, expert endorsement of the capability, technology and refinement built into our all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee.”

“From the outset, our Jeep engineers wanted the Cherokee to completely redefine what Canadian consumers should expect from a mid-size SUV,” He continued. “Whether it be through its cutting-edge design, class-exclusive tech like a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission, legendary Jeep 4×4 capability or more than 70 advanced safety and security features.”

Agree or disagree with the Canadian drivers on this one? I was going to end this with a joke about Canada, but every single one felt forced and cliched and already done by South Park.
