Jeep Shows Cherokee Trail Carver at SEMA 2013

SEMA is always one of the biggest times of the year for automakers, Jeep chief among them. They take great pride in displaying the coolest new additions to their family. This year’s show was no exception.

While the Wrangler was the Jeep being honored by the show, it was the Cherokee that got the Mopar boost. This new custom Jeep is called the Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver.

It’s impossible to bring up the new Jeep Cherokee and not also have to bring up controversy. Much has already been said in defense and against the new look that the Cherokee brings with it. One thing is for certain, though, and that is Jeeps determination to show their fans, both old and new, that a new look doesn’t take away from the same power and reliability that made Jeep as popular as it is today. That’s the mission the Cherokee Trail Carver sets out to do, to remind people of the versatility that comes with owning a Jeep.

The Cherokee Trail Carver comes with a powerful 3.2-liter V6 engine to help it conquer any terrain. This is match by the out look as the Trail Carver is covered in an Auburn Pearl paint job to make it look right at home in the outdoors.

Mopar has done much to infuse their charm and power into the Cherokee Trail Carver. Jeep Preps New Wrangler Polar in Time for Winter

CHRYSLER GROUP LLC 2014 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED POLAR EDITION

Winter is coming.

The Jeep Wrangler Polar is built to handle the icy conditions that come from living so far south of The Wall (or Antarctica as they call it these days). The new special edition is expected to be out before the end of month, just in time to help Jeep drivers welcome in the wintery goodness.

The Wrangler Polar certainly looks the part. The exterior is coated in an icy blue color along with black accents. It’s clear that Jeep is trying to sell an image of a winter-capable jeep with the Wrangler Polar. That ability isn’t just on the outside, however, as the Wrangler Polar is able to help its passengers fight the cold with such features as heated leather seats.

In order to deal with the winter conditions, the Wrangler Polar comes equipped with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine. This makes it capable of 285 hp and 260 ft-lbs of torque. The miles per gallon come out to 21 miles and, according to Jeep, provides the low-end torque needed for off-roading.

Also standard on the Wrangler Polar is the Standard Trac-Lok limited slip rear differential, which helps driving in severe conditions, such as icy roads.

As with most special editions of this nature, the Wrangler Polar will have a limited run. There is only 4500 models expected with this run, so if you’re interested, best to start planning ahead.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Gets MPG Rating

Untitled

There’s comes a time when you write about something, and look at something, that’s coming out and realize you’ve dissected all you can really get off other people’s assessment and photos. That’s when frustration sets in and you just tap your foot while waiting for the clock to click down. Anticipation has been replaced by wanting to have it already. Think of it like a kid anxiously waiting for that new train set they know is downstairs but they have to wait for Santa to put it under the tree so they can feign surprise in the morning. Yeah, just like that. Anyway, this tangent is supposed to set up just wanting the 2014 Jeep Cherokee to get here already.

What’s left to even hype up at this point? The look, and the changes that come with it, have been examined to an absurd level. Well, the next news trickling out of the Jeep PR machine is the mileage information.

The 2.4-liter standard engine that is available with the Jeep Cherokee is said to get 22 miles per gallon in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The four-wheel drive version lessens the mpg to 21 in the city and 28 on the highway. In comparison, the higher performance engine, the 3.2-liter Pentastar V6, gets a city mpg of 19 and highway mpg of 28. The four-drive version gets 19 city mpg and 28 highway mpg.

In terms of stacking up to the competition, the Jeep Cherokee holds up. The Chevy Equinox with standard engine gets 22 in the city and 32 highway mpg.
